Faith in God Ministries New Zealand

God has moved with us from start.

Formed in 1999 in Harare, Zimbabwe by Archbishop Asa & Bishop Mavis Gurupira who currently leads as the General Overseer, Faith in God Ministries International reach continents of Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Pacific, South America and United States of America. The global movement has over 1,000 churches and ministries including New Zealand. The church believes in operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and values technocrats and professionals as ministers of the gospel through their marketplace advantage. The church has ordained Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers including these Strategic Ministers making it unique and offering a dynamic flavor of experiencing God. The mix has made worshipping God so beautiful, dynamic and vibrant. Administratively, the church is led by an Executive Board. At a higher level, the church has an Overseers Council that gives direction and clarity on the spiritual matters and wellbeing of the organization. The structure is duplicated across all the regions, nations and assemblies.

The Call of God’s Servants.

After three days of prayer and fasting on a mountain in a small town of Bindura, Zimbabwe, God confirmed his call on the servants of God - Asa and Mavis Gurupira. The confirmation was marked by a clear audible voice and torrential rain in the three days in a usually dry month of August. This has become the mark of the ministry that wherever the presence of God comes in a city, country or community through its work, it rains. Archbishop Asa Gurupira is a qualified Chemical Engineer having graduated with a master’s degree from Havana, Cuba before accepting the heavy call of God as a minister of the gospel. He went on and studied theology and is a graduate of Christ For the Nations Institute, Dallas Tx, USA. Archbishop Gurupira has an unmistaken apostolic call. He is a father of faith across all continents. His ministry is marked by unquestionable prophetic clarity, vision and leadership. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. Bishop Mavis Gurupira trained as a Radiographer and left working in health to be a fellow minister with her husband though it has become clear she has a profound healing ministry. Bishop Mavis Gurupira founded the biggest ministry of the church called Kingdom Women making her impact felt in raising ladies to be a force and beacon of hope in their families and nations they belong.

Statement of Faith.

The following edicts of faith are to be observed by Faith in God Ministries International in its present age and are not to be regarded as means for man’s salvation.

(a) We embrace the Holy Bible as the only immutable and inspired Word of God, devoid of error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine and Christian living.

 (b) We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

 (c) We believe in the crucifixion of Jesus, His resurrection and ascension into heaven, Him being the High Priest and Advocate.

 (d) We believe in the propagation of the gospel of the Kingdom of God unto far and near ends.

 (e) We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross.

 (f) We believe in the imminent and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His second coming inspires believers for a zealous life of service whilst waiting for His coming.

(g) We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the everlasting life to the saved in heaven and eternal condemnation and separation from God of the unsaved to hell.

 (h) We believe in the autonomy of Faith in God Ministries International.

 (i) We hold a firm belief in strong marriages and that God ordained marriage and the family as the foundational institution of human society, and that the only legitimate marriage is a sacred permanent covenant relationship between one man and one woman, symbolizing the union of Christ and His Church.

 (j) We believe that God has instructed that no intimate sexual activity is to be engaged outside marriage of a man and a woman. The church does not subscribe to child molestation, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, and bisexuality, incest, pledging of female persons for marriage, pornography, pedophilia or any other immoral act as any of the above is a sinful perversion of God’s gift of sex.

(k) We hold a belief that God disapproves and forbids an attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. The Church holds a conviction and belief that the practice of surrogacy and child commissioning is ungodly.

 (l)  We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the ministry of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 and as evidenced in Acts Chapter 2
